Paint Kiss Acrylic Pouring – Geode-Inspired Romantic Flow Art

Every now and then, an old technique feels brand new again. In this Paint Kiss acrylic pouring tutorial, I bring a romantic twist to a style I haven’t explored in a while—this time with geode-inspired elegance and a message of love.

The composition plays with contrast and harmony. On one side, soft pinks whisper warmth and sweetness. On the other side, bold blues bring depth and intensity. These colors come together in the center, merging into soft curves, vibrant details, and beautiful forms. I’ve named this painting “Messenger of Love”, and its emotional energy shines through every step of the process.

Watch the full process here:

Instead of a traditional layered pour, I approached this Paint Kiss with a single-color base on each side—soft Venetian Rose (with added white for brightness) and a collection of blues with stronger contrast. The goal was to create movement across the center, stretch the composition outward, and capture a moment of connection between two visual energies.

After the pour dried, I added a few enhancements to increase contrast and reshape areas for a more 3D geode look. This step helped define the painting’s soft shimmering lines, glowing center, and delicate transition between colors. You’ll notice subtle golden and silver accents that elevate the overall composition.

Acrylic Pouring Recipe Used

To achieve the flawless flow and elegant details in this fluid painting, I used my signature Soby Recipe—the same formula I teach in Fluid Art Mastery. It’s built on a water-based foundation (around 80%) and enhanced with artist-grade mediums for a smoother pour, balanced drying, and stunning cell development. This recipe is fully archival and avoids additives like Floetrol, PVA glue, or silicone, which can lead to yellowing or crazing over time. The result? A consistent, high-performance mix that brings your artistic vision to life, especially in techniques like the paint kiss.

This painting turned out so different from my recent works, and that’s exactly why I love it. The romantic message, unique technique, and color story came together beautifully. I’m always excited to revisit classic methods and find new meaning in them.

I hope this acrylic pouring tutorial inspires you to try something different in your own creative practice.

Colorfully yours,
Olga Soby
